Två australiska tv-komiker, en av dem utklädd till al-Qaida-ledaren Usama bin Ladin, tog sig på torsdagen förbi säkerhetspådraget i Sydney och fram till det hotell där president George W Bush bor.

Nu är ju knappast Thompson en skådespelare som slagit sig på politiken utan en republikansk politisks spelare som halkade in på skådespeleriet då man ville ha honom att spela sig själv i en verklighetsbaserad spelfilm

Director Roger Donaldson bought the film rights and traveled to Nashville to speak with the people involved with the original case. After meeting with Thompson, Donaldson asked Thompson if he wanted to play himself in the movie; Thompson agreed. The resulting film, Marie, was released in 1985. …
